Winter Beauty | Taking Care of Your Skin
Now that we've definitely got into the colder weather, I thought I'd share a few tips about taking care of your skin. These three main things can really help the appearance of your skin and can help with your overall health as well.
Keeping hydrated
This is something which many of us don't think too much about but staying hydrated is so important when it comes to health and the health of your skin. You need to stay hydrated both inside and out and during winter when our skin is effected by central heating and extreme cold, staying hydrated is one way to keep your skin looking good. As well as this, you should be thinking about exfoliating regularly to remove any dead skin, allowing your skin to glow.
Drinking water and using moisturiser each day is so important and you should especially be aware of this around christmas when everyones eating sugary food. Drinking tea is another way to keep hydrated and Peppermint tea in particular has many health benefits which includes reducing stress, headaches and could help with asthma and muscle pain.
Suncream
This might come across as a weird one but applying suncream in the winter is just as impotent as applying it during the summer months. The UV rays can still effect you during winter, mainly when it's not even sunny and a lot of damage can be done during this time. Using suncream is the main way to grow old wrinkle free and shouldn't be ignored.
An easy way to make sure that you always have some applied is by buying a facial moisturiser or foundation with SPF in. This goes for lip balm as well as no one wants dry lips and they can get burnt too!
Keep Everything Clean
Another important one which often gets overlooked. During winter, everyone seems to get a whole lot lazier as all we want to do in get snug in bed! However you need to make sure that you are still keeping everything clean by regularly washing make-up brushes and changing those bed sheets! These are one of the main places that germs cling to so make sure that these are still getting a good clean at least once a week.
What are some of your winter beauty tips?
