Superdrug Naturally Radiant 2in1 Moisturiser and Serum

Following on from my mini Sleek Haul, I wanted to share a few of the other bits which I picked up from Superdrug as I find these types of posts quite interesting. I think its quite hard to find affordable skincare which ACTUALLY WORKS and is cruelty-free. With this in mind, when I found out that all of Superdrug's own skincare was cruelty-free and vegan where possible, I obviously wanted to try some out.
I picked up these three items because they are what I needed at the time and also because they looked quite interesting. Hyaluronic Acid seems to be the *in* ingredient at the moment as it seems to be in everything. Although saying that it is SO good for your skin. I picked up the facial spritz as I wanted something that wasn't going to be heavy, I especially like that I can use this whenever I want, before bed to give my face some added moisture or even when I have make-up on for a little freshen up.
I have noticed that I seem to have less dry skin on my face recently, which could be because of the hyaluronic acid and the moisturiser/serum which I picked up. I normally just use E45 on my face however I wanted to get a proper facial moisturiser and I think this has made a difference.
The last thing which I got was actually from the men's section. When it comes to skincare, women normally have floral or fruity ingredients and I have found this facial scrub to be quite a change from my normal products. I think that this really is a hidden gem, it works so well and makes your skin so much brighter.

I've wanted to do a little Asos Edit featuring beauty for a while now, I don't think people realise that you can buy beauty products on Asos! They offer so much and some really good brands which can be quite hard to get your hands on normally. I've only selected a few different brands which I would like to try, some I've heard of, some I haven't.
Asos beauty really is a hidden gem. I especially like the photography which they have used for this section of their website as the images are not only really creative, but also show a lot of detail. They even take photos of swatches of the products which is so handy as you can see what it looks like on actual skin!
Much like my last post, I want to explore more cruelty free brands so all of these brands are such.
Nars are one of those cult brands which I'm pretty sure most people would have heard of for good reason as they are a very high quality brand. They can seem quite pricey however I think that the price is justified for what you're getting. Their Velvet Matte Skin Tint is meant to be one of those base products which gives you coverage but is glowy and natural looking and could be my next base product when I start running low on foundation. Another stand out product from them is their Eyeshadow Duos, these come in a range of colours and are meant to be used together as the colours compliment each other.
This is another brand which I'm sure many people will know about as everyone went a bit crazy over their nail polish years ago (and I'm sure they still do). They continued to add to their brand and now offer everything from foundation to lipstick. I quite like the look of their cosmetics as everything is branded nicely, the packaging is clean and simple AND they try to make all their cosmetics vegan where possible. Their Runway Foundation is oil free, contains SPF and comes in eleven different shades! I also like that they've included a white as this could be a good mixer however I also think they should have included a dark shade as well. Another one of their products that looks really interesting is their "k-Kushion" Blusher, which is basically a liquid blusher which comes in three shades and is buildable. I think this could be a great product to have coming into Spring/Summer when everyone wants to wear less make-up but still have a natural flush.
Lottie or Lottie London is a seemingly new (to me) make-up brand which seem to offer come really interesting products at affordable prices. I've never really seen their stuff anywhere before however their branding looks really cool, very creative and reminds me a little of Topshop beauty but more fun? Anyway, they have some really stand out products, like their Pore Eraser Stick, which is basically a primer and comes in a easy twist stick. I also really like the look of their "get the look palette" in "selfie" which contains both eyeshadows AND blushers in both mattes and shimmers. This palette looks like it contains some really lovely colours which could work on many skin tones to give you that glowy look. I'm looking forward to trying their products in the future.
Another brand which is new to me however after doing a bit of research it looks like their products are mainly sold in America. The first thing that strikes me is their name as it is very unusual but also memorable. On their own website they state that they are made from the highest quality ingredients possible and are also cruelty free, paragon free, phthalate free, non-toxic and heavily pigmented so well done Asos for stocking such a brand! The two products from them which I think look Really good are the Flower PH Balm (which has a real chrysanthemum inside and reacts to skins PH levels and creates a perfect shade just for you) and their Diamond Powder , which could either be a foundation on its own (buildable) or a powder which you use lightly over foundation. This apparently illuminates the skin which is basically everything that I want in a powder.
And thats my edit! Now obviously there is tons more products on Asos then just this but these are the brands that I am most interesting in purchasing. They also do higher end make-up and also skincare so I am might do another one of these edits in the future.

Eyebrow Stylist - Light

I have been a fan of Sleek make-up since about 2010 when I made it my mission to collect every single eyeshadow palette that they brought out. They make some really high quality affordable products and I think often they are overlooked as a brand. They seem like the perfect type of make-up brand for teen girls. The issue that I had was that they are only sold in Superdrug (or online) and there was no Superdrugs near me.. until recently (you can imagine my delight).
As I am trying to stay away from well known drugstore brands that test on animals (think Rimmel or Maybelline) and explore other brands of make-up that are cruelty-free or vegan (which Sleek are), I decided to pick up some products of theirs which I am currently running out of instead of going crazy and buying everything.
I picked up three of their products, one of them did the blogging rounds years ago which everyone had to get their hands on, the Blush in Rose gold. I have a love/hate relationship with blush as I just don't seem to apply it very well however I love the idea and look of it on other people. In the packaging this blush looks very red, which can be a bit off-putting to some however it goes on quite lightly with buildable colour if you desire. The nice thing about it is that it has gold flakes (hence the name) which make you look very glowy. I think that this is the type of colour to suit a lot of different skin tones.
I also picked up a "luminous" pressed powder which looks incredible glittery to me in person however it seems to have photographed quite well as you can't see the glitter. I thought that I had actually picked up a highlighter or had gotten the idea wrong but after looking on their website, this is aimed at being used all over your face. It even suggests that you can buy a shade lighter as a highlighter or darker as a bronzer which I actually think is a good idea. I haven't actually used this yet so I'm not sure just how glittery it is on the skin. I think perhaps what I might experiment with is using a normal powder all over my face and just putting this over certain places, almost like a highlighter (but I fully intend to use highlighter as well).
The last thing that I picked up is their Eyebrow Stylist which looks exactly like the same concept as ABH's Brow Wiz just with more simple packaging. I really want to change the way I do my eyebrows as I've been doing them the same way for years. I have tried this out, however I picked up the wrong colour which is wayyyy too light for me (but probably a good colour for blondes). I didn't actually realise there was only three colour options available otherwise I definitely would have gone for a darker colour. I do like the consistency of this, it's sort of waxy, not like a pencil or a powder. I might pick another one of these up but in a better colour for me to try out properly.

This is a combination of a recent reads post and also a little book haul as I haven't actually read many of these books yet. I was a bit bored on amazon and I love buying second-hand books so one afternoon I got a bit spendy.
I bought Bloom because I have been following Esteé Lalonde for a while (ages actually, like literally years) and it was one of the only *youtuber* books which I have taken an interest in. What I liked about this book was the focus that she put on photography, the images in it are actually beautiful and go with the aesthetic of the books so well. Aside from the look of it (well done if you spotted in in my Topshop make-up post) it is actually a good read, I'm not really sure what category it falls into but has a bit of everything in it including advice about life and fashion and allows you to learn a bit more about her. I really enjoyed reading it and I would recommend picking it up.
As well as Bloom, I also picked up a few other books including Feeding Time by Adam Biles, Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov and Nocturnal Animals by Austin Wright. I wouldn't really say that I have a certain type of book which I like to read but normally I read trashy romantic novels and while theres nothing wrong with that, I wanted to expand on what I'm reading. I'm really interested in reading Lolita as that is a classic and also Nocturnal Animals as I'll probably watch the film after!

This months Glossybox was a collaboration which is something that they have done in the past and have been quite popular. This month it was focusing on the "healthy eating trend, so all the products have some kind of food element to them. The whole box was curated by Deliciously Stella, I hadn't actually heard of "Deliciously Stella" before but from reading this interview I think I understand a bit more about her/her brand. This to me didn't really make sense to include in a box as me, and many women I'm sure get these boxes as a treat to feel a bit better about ourselves and to discover new products and to have someone take the piss out of that seems a bit weird. I know she's parodying the "clean eating" trend and the products but I just thought it was a bit of a weird collaboration between the two... Anyway aside from that, I liked the idea of "healthy" products in this months box.
I wanted to do a little post all about the photos that you don't normally see, whether thats on insta or on a blog, if it's not pretty then most people don't share them! I'm always interested in what other people have been snapping so thought I'd share a few images I took recently, I'm always taking photos of my dogs (lol) so this makes for a nice change.
I thought I'd do a little post on my three favourite drugstore/highstreet foundations that are actually really good. I went through a stage where I would buy a different foundation every time I was running out which means I have been able to test out a lot of foundations. These are the ones that I tend to come back to and buy again and again.
